Know Your Rights - from the National Center for Transgender Equality
This Transgender Day of Visibility, we honor the resilience of our transgender community. However, we must also recognize the significant challenges and injustices faced by transgender people. Nearly 1/3 of transgender individuals experience homelessness or unstable housing in a given year. We must work towards creating an equitable and inclusive society that prioritizes the rights and dignity of transgender people.
To address this on the local level, organizations like the Ruth Ellis Center prioritize the housing and supportive needs of transgendered individuals as part of a broader strategy of serving the LGBTQIA+ community. You can support this organization by donating at bit.ly/DONATERUTH.
You can also help by speaking out against unjust legislation which seek to deprive our trans family of the right to make decisions for their own lives.
