Shanna Cherubini, Owner MTAN Solutions LLC

HMIS System Admin Support for HAND

Shanna Cherubini brings with her nearly 20 years of experience working in the homeless services arena.  She has been working with HAND on a contractual basis since May 2019. During that time, she has provided HAND, and other Detroit agencies, with experienced HMIS consultation, training, and technical assistance. She has developed several critical custom reports for the community, played an integral role in helping Detroit implement HUD’s new Coordinated Entry data collection requirements and has been a key player in helping to integrate the local Veteran By Name List process into HMIS.

Shanna has an educational background in social work and criminal justice. Her early work included managing several homeless programs in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and providing leadership to local and regional CoC planning bodies. She went on to become the lead report developer and data analyst for the Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness (MCAH), the Statewide HMIS Lead Agency for Michigan and North Carolina.

After several years of working primarily with data, Shanna felt she was beginning to lose sight of her original passion. When the consumers that she once loved to serve started becoming numbers on a report, Shanna decided it was time for a change. She went on to form MTAN Solutions, LLC, which aims to provide all levels of support to homeless serving agencies and communities, so they may better meet the needs of the consumers they serve. When settling on a name for the business, Shanna wanted a constant reminder that the people we serve are “More Than A Number” and thus MTAN was born.
